The process of coating aluminium cylinder bores with Nickesil (a nickel/silicon carbide composite surface finish) is very highly preferred for its oil retaining properties in combination with wear resistance. Importantly, our Nickesil process possesses a reliable coating that does not delaminate around exhaust or intake ports because of its excellent adherence to the aluminum substrate.
